ABUJA- PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has written the Senate, seeking for the screening and confirmation of Professor Bolaji Owasanoye from Osun State as the Chairman of the Independent Corrpupt Practices and other related offences commission (ICPC).
In the letter dated 27th October and addressed to the Senate President, the President has also asked the Senate to confirm eight members of the commssion.
They are Grace Chinda (Delta), Okolo Titus (Enugu), Obiora Igwedebia (Anambra), Mrs Olubukola Balogun (Lagos), Justice Adamu Bello (Katsina), Hannatu Mohhamed (Jigawa), Abdullahi Maikano Saudi (Niger) and Yahaya Umar Dauda respectively.
According to Buhari, the request for confirmation was in accordance with the provision of Section 38(6) of the corrupt practices and other related offence commission (Establishment) Act, 2000.
